United States Patent and Trademark Office is Offering Black Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program Series

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has exciting slate of programs this month that might interest your entrepreneur, inventor, innovator, and small business owner members: the 2023 Black Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program series:

These are great opportunities to be informed and inspired by successful innovators and experts in intellectual property.

Are you a current or aspiring inventor or entrepreneur looking for new paths to success? Would you like to learn from innovators and experts about how to expand your opportunities? If so, don’t miss the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) 2023 Black Innovation and Entrepreneurship program. There are three opportunities to participate online or in person at the Morgan State University Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management. 

In-person attendees: join United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) staff for a networking reception immediately following each program. Chat with IP subject matter experts to get information, resources, and guidance. 

Register and learn more about part one of the program: Protecting your IP, on February 10 from 2-4:30 p.m. ET. Special guests include:

  • Raymar Dizon, Associate Director, Office of Technology Transfer, Morgan State University   
  • Shymaine Davis, Director of Entrepreneurship, Greater Washington Urban League

Register and learn more about part two of the program: Intergenerational conversations, on February 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. ET: 

  • Hear special guests’ conversations about the importance of inclusivity in STEM education 
  • Learn best practices for mentorships and inspiring the next generation of innovators 
  • Learn how educational programs are engines of opportunity for invention and entrepreneurship 

Register and learn more about part three of the program: Learning from leading Black innovators, on February 24 from 2-4:30 p.m. ET: 

  • Learn how HBCUs function as regional centers of excellence for inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs 
  • Hear from special guests about intellectual property (IP) innovation in the hair care industry 
  • Learn from business experts how you can build a successful brand
