Smithsonian’s Bias Inside US Exhibition Coming to Chester County History Center

Date

West Chester, PA – Chester County History Center will host “The Bias Inside Us” from September 24, 2025 to January 10, 2026. This exhibition and community engagement project from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) raises awareness about the social science and psychology of implicit bias, the impact of this bias, and what people can do about it.

  • A woman in a green blouse points at a museum display titled "The Science of Bias," which discusses how our brains can be tricked. The display features text and an illustration of two tables.
  • Two women stand in front of an exhibit panel titled "Bias," which defines the term and explains that everyone feels bias. One woman points at the text while both appear engaged and interested in the display.
  • Exhibit panels titled "The Science of Bias" feature text, graphics, a monitor, and interactive elements in a brightly lit indoor space with brown carpet and a skeleton display in the background.
  • Colorful, abstract shapes on the left and the Smithsonian logo on the right. Text reads: "bias | The inside us." The design is modern and artistic, with a gray, white, and bright color palette.
