October 21, 2021 – West Chester, PA – The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC), presents two days of fun, food, and festivities during its upcoming FamilyFest on Saturday, October 23, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday, October 24, from noon until 5 p.m. Celebrating its 25th Anniversary, AHMEC retools its annual June FatherFest to include one day dedicated to classic cars and motorcycles and the other to aircraft.

Saturday’s headliner is well-known WMGK DJ, Andre Gardner, who will be broadcasting live from noon until 2 p.m. Gardner answered a few questions regarding his participation in the event.

“I’ve always been interested in flying, and flying machines, ever since my first trip in a jet way back in 1970 (Pan Am from Pittsburgh to Philly after an NFL Game).” Gardner stated. Additionally, my brother is an ATP licensed pilot, so it’s always fun to go up in the air with him and be so close to the action.”

Gardner, who has manned the microphone during PM drive on 102.9 WMGK since 2002 takes his Friday afternoon show on the road for his famous “Hometown” live broadcast. Listeners enjoy getting a chance to meet him, and he loves the energy that comes from broadcasting in front of a hometown crowd.

“I love meeting our MGK listeners at our live events the most, and I hope we see a lot of them this weekend!” he continued. “It’s a fun day for the whole family to learn about flight, surrounded by professionals and like-minded flight fans, plus MGK is there!”

Sunday’s highlight will be helicopter rides from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m. that cost $75.00 per person and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Static aircraft from PennSTAR, PA State Police and LifeNet among others will be flying in for the day.

Exhibitors will include PAWS for People, Chester County Beekeepers Association, Key Bank, SAR Dogs of PA, and more. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Locust Lane Brewery, The Meat House, Buddy’s Burgers, Plum Caterers, Corporal Dee BBQ, and Kona Ice. Demonstrations from Master Your Drone, Out of the Box Robotics, and Drone Legends, and a Sunday afternoon talk by Captain Jonathan Theel, Commanding Officer of U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, will add to the excitement.

Admission is $10.00 per person per day or $15.00 per person for both days.
