Exton, PA – Jan. 17, 2019 – As the need for skilled workers continues to grow both nationwide and in Pennsylvania, local students and employers came together today to explore the growing opportunities for transportation technicians. The event was one of 13 career expos held at Universal Technical Institute campuses across the country.

“We came out here for today’s open house because simply we need more well-trained technicians, and the more students know about UTI’s training and employment programs the better we’ll be able to fill well-paying, rewarding positions,” said Steve Janet, Service Manager at John Kennedy Auto Group. “This is an ever-changing field, which always ensures the need for well-trained auto technicians. Lots of people, students and parents, don’t know the sorts of advanced technologies technicians work with and the lucrative careers they have open to them.”

John Kennedy Auto Group was just one of almost 50 local companies – including Cummins, FedEx, Foley CAT, and Goodyear – at the event.

Guests were part of live demonstrations of a dynamometer and hydraulics systems; saw the vehicles and technology students work on during their training and met with instructors. At UTI-Exton students can study Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, Lexus, Cummins, and Peterbilt manufacturing programs. Students can complete their core training and be ready to work in as little as 11 months.
