Harrisburg, PA (October 19, 2021)–Mid Penn Bank’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) is proud to announce the release of a grant program request for proposal. The grant program is being administered by the WLN’s Impact Grant Committee.

The focus for the grant funding is non-profits/programs in Mid Penn Bank’s 12-county footprint that educate and empower women. The grant program is open to nonprofit organizations that focus on health and wellness (including mental health); human services; education; housing assistance; and workforce preparedness/vocational skills.

“We are excited to offer this opportunity to the many organizations in our communities that are working hard each day to support and uplift women,” said WLN Impact Grant Committee Chair and Mid Penn Bank Commercial Loan Officer, Nicole Pedriani. “The committee’s hope is that this funding helps to engage women in programs that empower them in moving towards and achieving their goals.”

Founded in 2018 by Mid Penn Bank’s CRA & Community Impact Officer, Dawn Spahr, the WLN was created as a way for female colleagues, at all levels, to make connections, share knowledge and experiences, learn about leadership, and enrich their professional development journeys. Recognizing Mid Penn Bank’s dedication to the communities it serves, the WLN formed the Impact Grant Committee in 2021. The committee’s mission is to have a meaningful impact outside of the walls of the bank and to encourage philanthropic skills, as a part of leadership development. This is the first year of grant-making for the WLN.

“What began as a way for the women of Mid Penn Bank to better connect with one another has grown rapidly in three years and evolved to a place where the WLN can turn its vision outward towards the community,” said Spahr. “The women of Mid Penn Bank champion many causes across Pennsylvania and are highly engaged community members. We are all proud of the committee’s work and the positive outcome it is having.”

The total pool for this first year of grants is $12,000, with minimum grant awards of $2,000 per organization. The grant application and full grant details can be found at: www.midpennbank.com/events.
