Malvern, Pa. (October 14, 2022) – Meridian Bank CEO Chris Annas participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the opening of the ACCESS Community Center, Chester, PA’s first all-ages community center. Meridian joined other prominent Philadelphia area corporations in supporting the project, donating $50,000.

Annas noted, “Meridian joins the Chester community in looking forward to this neighborhood being transformed with the opening of ACCESS. It’s another of the many, vital, community improvement projects which we have been privileged to support.”

Jack Surgent, a Villanova University graduate and CPA, created the non-profit organization that constructed this new, 8,000 square foot, $3 million dollar facility, on the former ball fields of a condemned primary school at West Seventh and Booth Streets. Organizers envision this center as a respectful environment for all ages to gather for learning, recreation and celebration. ACCESS will also provide medical services and food distribution as well as support for those who live with mental illness, are victims of violence, and/or have other unique needs.
