Exton, PA: Collegium Charter School (CCS) has announced its commitment to become Pennsylvania’s first K-12 school to achieve Global Biorisk Advisory Council® (GBAC) STAR™ accreditation, the cleaning industry “gold standard” for facility preparedness. This prestigious accreditation is achieved by following rigorous cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention protocols developed by GBAC and its parent company, ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association.

According to Mr. Bill Duffy, CCS’s Director of Operations, by pursuing GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation, “CCS will secure third-party validation that our school follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, clearly demonstrating CCS’s preparedness and commitment to safe operations for our students, staff, and community both during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and beyond.”

Ms. Patricia Olinger, GBAC’s Executive Director, stated, “GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers, and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments.”

“Achieving GBAC Star Facility Accreditation—the cleaning industry’s only outbreak prevention, response, and recovery accreditation—will involve diligent training in core facility preparedness elements,” said Duffy.

“These include operating procedures, risk assessment strategies, facility personnel training, emergency preparedness, and response measures. The accreditation will verify that Collegium Charter School implements the best practices recommended to prepare for, respond to,
and recover from outbreaks and pandemics, and we are very pleased to pursue it.”
