Collegium Charter School Breaks Ground On New Athletic and Educational Campus

Exton, PA: Collegium Charter School (CCS) enthusiastically broke ground on Wednesday, April
24th, to begin its newest construction project: CCS Athletic and Educational Campus at the
William R. and Carolanne B. Smith Homestead!

The phased project will enhance the school’s athletic and extracurricular programs by initially creating two multipurpose soccer and lacrosse fields, a baseball and softball field, and a 48-car parking lot by Fall 2024.

The second phase will renovate two existing Designated Historic Resources at CCS’
athletic field site on the north side of Clover Mill Road, including the historic home of Dr. George Coates and outbuildings associated with the house. Once the entire project concludes, the renovations will create a fieldhouse containing bathrooms, locker rooms, a training room, office space, and the capability for CCS to monitor all campus facilities 24/7 more efficiently. The purchased land and its natural resources will also expand CCS’ curricular offerings in agricultural and environmental studies.

“We’re honored to begin this project and are eager to create these invaluable facilities for our
Collegium Community,” said CCS’ Chief Executive Officer Marita Barber. “As we celebrate the
25th Anniversary of Collegium’s founding in the Fall, we continue to build upon our strong
foundation and past successes, looking toward the future with our continued commitment to
expand upon and create new programs that will prepare our students for post-secondary
success.”
